For preventing wrist pain due to stiffness of wrist, usually use in backbends, e.g. Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel), Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (Upward Facing Dog), or in forward bends, e.g. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog), or in arm balances, e.g. Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand), etc.
