For preventing wrist pain due to stiffness of wrist, usually use in backbends, e.g. Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel), Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (Upward Facing Dog), or in forward bends, e.g. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog), or in arm balances, e.g. Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand), etc.
Place underneath mid-to-upper back in Restroative Yoga for opening up upper back, preparing for backbends and Pranayama.
Plays an important role in Yoga Kurunta (Yoga Wallropes) for doing backbends and forward bends.
